  1. This is probably a stupid response, but here goes.  I am not very familiar with this kinda stuff, so sorry if I sound stupid.

What about something from Wicked?  Like.. that song called... Popular(I think that's what it's called)

  2. though the fire and flames LOLOLLOLOLOLOLLOOLOLO

  3. What's the matter w/ "on Broadway".  If you have a guitarist who can pick a l**k and a tight back-up band, you're voice will receive rave reviews

Believe me Benson's version is by no means the only one.

The song (by Mann/Weill) has been recorded commercially several different times.

  4. It Really depends on wat type of music u like

  5. Try something from Les Miserables. Maybe On My Own?

Also, there's a song from the play The Last 5 Years called Still Hurting. It really highlights range and tempo. I'd definitely look into that song.

I know someone answered your question with the suggestion of Wicked. As much as I love that musical, people are tired of hearing someone sing songs from it at vocal recitals. Believe me, if you sang 'Popular,' at least half of the audience will be thinking about how many times they already heard this song.

Look into musicals that aren't as popular. Maybe even some of the classics, like Cinderella, or Beauty and the Beast? I'd look into those ones, and steer clear from any songs from Wicked.
