I'm wanting to make a CD for kids ranging from kindergarten to grade 7. I teach elementary and middle school music and am always looking for new music to use for listening games, dance and rhythm activies. The songs need to be upbeat with clean lyrics. Usually, I use motown for these activities, but I'd like to try something more modern. Songs I'm thinking of would be Cotton-Eyed Joe, the Cha-Cha Slide etc.

    Last Dance (by Donna Summer)

Go to a music store - or even a dollar store - and pick up a "party mix" CD. The cheap ones do not have songs done by the original artist, but it will give you an idea of some upbeat songs, then you can get versions of the original artists' renditions.

  3. Use the beach boys
