What sort of car can i get for 2000 Dirhams per month in Dubai (excluding petrol)?

I have a job offer and been given that amount to spend on transport. New to the region so open to suggestions of whether to rent, buy, hp, etc...

for rent a car in the high season you will get nothing for 2000 per month now you can rent a Toyota yaris or Mitsubishi lancer for 1500 per month and 500 for gas

but if you mean buying a car you can get a big  range of cars for 2000 per month

A Dhs. 2000/month transport allowance is prety normal in the UAE specially to those occupying the middle position in a company. It's kind of tough in the beginning of your joining as this Dhs. 2000 will be gone in just 2 weeks if you will choose to use taxi in your travels. Suggest you enter into a contract with a private transport company offering travel lifts for those who require. Get the newspaper Gulfnews and you will find a lot in the classified adds section.

In case you have a license and is allowed to drive - then, your Dhs. 2000 will get a Lancer or Toyota Yaris or Nissan TIIDA. They are within the range of Dhs. 1500 to 1800/month + gas.

You can also opt to buy a new car payable in 3 or 5 years. Monthly shall be Dhs. 1300 to 1600 based on your chosen payment schemes. This will be for any 1.3 to 1.6 4-cylinder saloon car.

You can have as well the mid range (altima, camry, lumina, etc) ranging from Dhs. 1800 to 2200/month payable in 3 or 5 years.

Otherwise, you can have th 2nd hand 4WD's or saloon from 4X4 or Off Road or al Futtaim automall. Cars are under Dhs. 2000/month payable in 3 or 5 years.
