What sort of credit rating with experian do you need to open a full current account with your bank?

I have had some credit problems in the past but have got the score back upto 850 will this be enough to get a full bank account instead of a basic bank account?

  1. yes that should be fine. Try Natwest, i had a credit rating of WAY less than that and i have a full facility bank account with them, cheque guarantee card, overdraft, everything.


  2. If your credit score is 850, you can open an account anywhere.  850 is a perfect credit score.

  3. I believe that 850 is an average to good credit rating.

    You could try using www.moneysupermarket.com and using their Experian smart search, where you put in your details and the Experian tool on the site will match your credit profile to the best deals around, it will also tell you if your profile falls into a Excellent, Good, Fair, Needs Improvement or Poor category so you only apply for the products which are likely to suit your circumstances.

    You could also ask your exisiting banking provider (if you have one) to upgrade any basic accounts you might hold with them.
