  1. a joiner is what our friends over the water would call a 'finish carpenter' ie he makes and fits things like window frames, door frames and other architectural woodwork.

    sort of half way between a carpenter and a cabinet maker.

    self employed he would make £20.00 + per hour.

    direct prob about £10.00.


  2. They come to your door, drink a cup of Tea, then say sorry Guv I can't fit you in untill next Wednesday..
