What sort of lighting is needed for plants?

In one of my reptile vivariums, i am putting live plants and i would like to know what sort of artificial lighing could be used? and any products people could suggest?

Plants like bromeliads, pothos and snake plant.

  1. If no natural light is used it probably would be best to use a fluorescent or plant light.

  2. A fluorescent grow light which you buy at garden centres/stores.

  3. Fluorescent would be best for your vivarium, but you want to make sure to use full spectrum bulbs in the highest wattage you can get.These provide the same light as the sun. Just look for a fluorescent desk lamp as close to the width of your vivarium as possible.The goose-neck type would probably be best to get the height and placement you'll need.
