What type of degree is needed for the girls at the OB office to take me to my exam room, do height,weight, blood pressure, injections, etc.?

  1. Medical Assistants do this type of work. They take about a year of classes, usually at a junior college or technical school, and get a Associates Degree or Certificate upon completion. This is an entry level position in health care, but it pays decently, there are usually jobs available just about anywhere, and it doesn't take too long to get started. I know that Everest Institute offers a program.


  2. They are probably medical technologists not nurses.  This is about a 6 week couse in basic health care and you get a certificate not a degree.  

  3. They are probably nurses.  You can get an associates degree in nursing in 2 years.

  4. It sounds like you are talking with regards to the US. Nurses will generally carry out these simple checks. In the US you can obtain an associates degree in 2 years (I think) or like myself the Bsc, which which is about 3 years in duration.

    Actually, the guy above me is correct, in the US it would actually not be Nurses that did this, and yes the ward is a certificate not a degree.
