What sort of paint can I use to paint a drum skin?

Depends on what the skin is made of.  If you're talking about a drum with natural skin, you can use basic acrylic paint but stain will last longer.

If you're talking about a drum set with synthetic skins, then I've seen spray paint (like Krylon) used.  Try it on an old skin first, though, to be sure the paint doesn't dissolve the skin.
