What sort of price am i looking at for a manifold down piece for an XR3i? ?

What year is your motor? If it is a MK5 or Mk5a Xr3i (105 or 130bhp) then you have a zetec engine and parts are readily available, if you go to a breakers/scrap yard you should be able to pick one up cheap. Someone suggested £400 for a new one, that is way too much, you can pick up a 4-2-1 performance manifold/down pipe & de-cat pipe for around £200 on ebay.

If you are talking about the down pipe from the manifold to the exhaust £40 from you local exhaust centre. If its the manifold that needs replacing your best be is check out some scrap yards.

manifold or downpipes?....theres still some in the brsakers yards but youll have to hunt around,....front pipes can still be orderd/made...£40 last time i got one

Whichever version, they all use standard parts - I'd go for Ebay for a CVH engine, but your local exhaust fitter should be able to oblige, and probably as cheap as anywhere else.
