  1. Everybody but the English get a brilliant reception in Glasgow.

It's a friendly City, with a fantastic ambiance. There's a lot of poverty, but that should improve when Scotland gets its independence in a few years time.

    Aussies are fine there.

  2. Glasgow is a wonderful city, and the people are very friendly and welcoming to all visitors. It is a very cosmopolitan place with people from all over the world visiting and now living and working here. There are fantastic shops, museums, parks, pubs, clubs etc which attract many tourists. I'm sure you will have a great time and a very warm welcome if you do come to Glasgow!

  3. To be honest, Glaswegians are very open and don't really comment on any foreigners except to ask "So, where are you from?" with genuine interest.  There are so many visitors to Glasgow and Scotland every year that the people welcome and accept everyone with "warm Scottish hospitality".

Because Australia is a commonwealth country, there are many Australians who live and work here in Scotland.  As far as I know, Australians are treated with the same courtesy and respect that all visitors, migrant workers and expats are given throughout the country.

I hope you consider living and working here, as it's a lovely place - just make sure you're ready for the rain!

  4. pretty good actually.

I'm an australian and I lived in Edinburgh for about 12 months - I encountered nothing bad.

funniest thing ever is hearing people saying "G'day mate" with a scottish accent.

have fun - beautiful country, terrific whisky and lovely people.
