I agree with geenodu: 290-310 max considering their score. Plus their confidence is probably not that high since they only have like three (not even) batsmen left, and their middle order failed to score. I think Sri Lanka will be able to get the rest of the wickets on Day 2, if it doesn't rain, and then they will go to bat.

lol sehwag is still there folks, and we know wat he's capable of:P and india still have laxman n karthik to support him as specialist batsmen.

at this point, the match is evenly poised, even though sehwag's presence might help india regain their advantage of winning the toss. but definitely sri lanka came back well in the final session to stall india's rapid progress...

mu guess is india will be dismissed for a score around 300-320 if sehwag gets out early...but if he stays around for much long.......they might cross that 400 mark quite easily.

would that be enough? hmm that remains to be seen. sri lanka seems to be in good nick with the bat lately....and mahela having a gr8 record at galle would be looking forward to make an impression with the bat. of course all that is provided the indians get to a respectable total...tomoz is always a new day...and things might change with some quick wickets, you never know:P

oh and we shouldnt forget the weather...it wasnt very helpful for india's cause on the first day...there's always a chance of play being halted by bad weather. if it does happen in the following four days, india might have their work cut out!

Less than 300/350 and that means India has lost the control over the game that Sehwag and Ghambhir gave so painstakingly. A question arises as to the usefulness of all Sachin, Dravid, and Ganguli. Maybe it's time for them to retire graciously. They are great players and played great for the country but for the sake of Indian cricket they should call it a day. Let it be their farewell tour for the trio.

Well, SL bowlers must concentrate &  force the oppostion batsman to misjudge shots for wickets before 300 runs i sau or less. Also the S.L. batsman must be prepared VS the Indian fast pace attack & don't lose quick wickets. I think the Indian fast pace bowlers will be at there Indian best however, SL batsman must bat like it's end of the world to force runs onto the Indian bowlers.

A score of 450 plus runs in first innings will be a safe and challenging score for India.  However, as it stands now, India can look for around 300 runs only, which will not be a challenging score.
