  4. These are generalizations, but whether you're talking military or civilian, commercial or private, there are some characteristics in common:

    - Ability to multitask

    - Ability to concentrate under pressure

    - Ability to conceptualize in 3 dimensions (not as easy as it sounds)

    - Very good at distilling data and prioritizing it to the situation at hand

    - Ability to maintain situational awareness at all times (this means literally internalizing what's going on around you)

    There's five or so.

  6. First u need a private pilots license (you can fly a plane).

    Next you need to accumulate flying hours.

    Now you can get a commercial pilot license (you can offer your services for a fee)

    Next you need a airline transport pilot license. (you can fly planes for airlines)

    You need a multiple engine rating and instrument (these take years of experience to acquire)

    Airlines also may require thousands of flying hours and/or an advanced aviation school ground training.

    Some colleges/universities offer undergraduate degrees, airlines also may require/prefer this as well.
