  1. Homeless children- because their are more homeless

    children than adults.

  2. hsk the charity the question..how much goes to the charity and how much goes to administration?.you may get a surprise...you can also go to your cities web page and see whick charities are rated as well run..low overhead..

  3. With your money, you could purchase items for a homeless shelter. Many shelters will post on their websites a list of items they need such as blankets, shoes, hot cocoa, etc. That way you can ensure your money is not going to the administration, but is going directly to the cause.

  4. If you have a great amount of money like 1 million go to your lawyer and draw up a trust for a local charity.

if you have $100 - 12,000  I would first contact your local United Way Agency and find out the names of the agencies in your area that are serving your community.

The reason I say United Way is that they have solid records on each agency as to the way they spend their money and how many clients they help.

Then select an agency that fits your needs such as ask yourself this question - was I battered or know someone was... do I want to help the  locate a Battered Women's Shelter.  Or were you or a friend abused as a child was in their past and you would want to find a local home for children.

WHEN YOU MAKE GIVING PERSONAL - THEN IT IS A LIFELONG COMMITMENT.

  5. donate it to a cause where you are willing to be involved.. real giving is giving yourself.. be with the people in need.. make them your friends..

  6. Personally, I donate to a Children's Hospice in England. "Demelza House"...http://www.demelzahouse.org/

They are a wonderful charity. The best thing about them is that they don't "beg" for money, they accept anything that you send them graciously. And if you can't afford to send a check, they are more than happy with toys, games, coloring books, stickers, and arts and crafts. I've been donating to them for 4 years now, and will continue to do so.

  7. most donated money goes to administrative costs of organizations.  I recommend you find an individual that needs help, no matter what the category and give it to that person.  Then you will know that your money went to meet the need you intended for it to go to.
