in my car i have an alpine headunit, two 6' speakers (cheapies) in the front doors, two pioneer 6'x9' speakers(330watts max), two alpine R-type subs(1500watt max), two boss amps one is 1000 watts powering the subs the other is 600 watts powering the speakers...

what have you got in your car? and why?

I have an Alpine 9887 head unit, Focal acess components in the front, and a 12" Mtx Sledgehammer subwoofer in the boot, all run off a 4 channel Mtx amp. Its a simple but versatile system that drops good and low when needed, but still has enough clarity to listen to softer acoustic music.

I have a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top, and a stealth look is very important to avoid theft, and thats why i choose to keep the factory deck. to that i have a 600 watt RMS Alpine amp running a single 12" Elemental design sub. I choose the sub, and the amp, because to me they are both great values. the amp is one of the best true watt per dollar buys out there, and the sub was bought factory direct from eD, and at 175 bucks i think it compares to JL that cost twice as much, its effecient, and extremely accurate, hitting well below 20Hz. for the mains i was somewhat limited with the rears being 5 1/4 and the fronts 4x6. i used a adaptor plate and did a bit of modification to fit a 5 1.4 up front. so i am using infinity Kappas all around. normally not a speaker i would get, just not a good value, but i got lucky and found them on the web, new in original box for 45 buck a pair, so i got and for that they are a bargin, just i would never pay 130 for them. they are powered by a 4 channel MTX amp that puts 60 watts to each of them.

Overall i am very happy with the setup, it plays loud and is far superior to the "7 speaker" top-o-da-line factor setup.
