I'm looking for volunteering/extra-curricular activities as a law student in London. I want to do something that'll help me stand out from the crowd. Any ideas?

  1. I found this while doing a google search:

    http://charity-volunteers.vivastreet.co....

The advert was only posted a few days ago so you might be in luck.

  2. Vacation placements at the top law firms e.g. Eversheds, Pinsent Masons etc

Citizens Advice Bureau, Advocacy Centres etc

Mooting - an excellent extra curricular activity, many Ive known have gone on to secure training contracts and pupillage's by competing in mooting.

Also does your law dept do Street Law; a society that travels to schools and runs workshops based on law, raising awareness etc?

Edit: wow it sounds like you're good to go onto an excellent legal career. However just a thought, why not get involved in the Student Union even if its non law related it will demonstrate you are a well rounded individual. Furthermore look into writing for your SU's news paper, SU's usually need somebody to write a legal column.

    Best of luck

  3. Depends what level you're at. There's the Free Representation Unit who do employment and housing tribunal stuff. The institution you're studying will probably have a few pro-bono programs.
