Question:

What speaker wire gauge?

For an FI Q 12" running at about 1500w rms. I was thinking that 10awg would suffice, any other opinions.

  2. 10 gauge should work just fine, generally speaking, the larger the gauge the better the sound quality.

  3. 12 AWG would the largest you would ever need to run.

    Even at the full 1500 watts the most voltage going through it would be 77.5 volts AC. 12 AWG is what you would use for a house lamp with 120 volts AC.

  4. 10 or 12 gauge would work very well. I usually use 8 gauge for mine. Only for the looks though. I really don;t gain anything from it.
