What special quality did Allah gifted us with that..

made Him appointed us as the Khalifah (vicegerent) of the earth, when He has others who worship Him dutifully day and night?

The human mind, specifically the conscience we have.

And the self and what proportioned it and inspired it with depravity or taqwa, he who purifies it has succeeded, he who covers it up has failed. (Qur'an 91: 7-10)

Free will.

[95:5] Surely, We have created man in the best make;  

[95:6] Then, when he does evil deeds, We degrade him as the lowest of the low,  

[95:7] Save those who believe and do good works; so for them is an unfailing reward.  

love for all, hatred for none
