  1. It assesses each developmental area-

    adaptive behavior

    personal/social skills

    communication

    motor skills

    cognitive skills

just think about the things kids normally do-that is what teh test is looking for

can they sit up, walk, jump

recognize/name familiar items, numbers, colors, shapes, etc.

    scribble with a pencil

the full tests is lengthy-the score sheet alone is 30 pages-and each section has a thick book to go along with it

  2. To tell specific test items would violate the protected nature of these tests (meaning legal action could be taken) and be an ethical violation (meaning one's license could be taken).  So hopefully no one will answer this question specifically.  Generally, however, the test has an adaptive behavior portion where a child's ability to communicate, interact with others, and care for him/herself are asked.  There is also a portion that looks at the child's knowledge of object permanence, can they use utensils, follow directions, express him or herself, etc.
