What spider is this vid included ?

so i was sitting here and a spider fell on my table from the ceiling. as bored as i was i got my camera and here it is

can anyone say what kind is it... why would it be in a home and is it any harm.. what if my cat eats it and superstitiously speaking do they mean anything.. i heard ur not suppose to kill spiders for they bring news to the person so i put it in the napkin and flushed it down the toilet .. after all i didnt kill it .. its not my foult they dont know how to swim.

Cast my vote also as an insect.  Legs 7 and 8 are antenna, which makes it an insect not a spider. You are not close enough for me to even guess what kind of insect.

It look like a male black widow spider. They're usually smaller than the females but definitely not dangerous.

At first I thought it was a female black widow, but after watching the closeups, it looked like a beatle. I only saw six legs, and never saw the pedipalps.
