5.9/5.10, female, I'm strong, flexiable. I do horse riding at the moment, and I'm quite flexable. I'm not skinny but I'm not fat I'm about average but I could loose a few pounds. I'm fourteen and I want to start a sport. What sport would be best for me? I'm resilient and when I put my mind to something I'll do it. Help?

  1. I do track and field and I LOVE it. There are so many events that you can do so try a couple and if you don't like it there are plenty more. From your information i'd say that high jump, long jump, javelin or discus would be good for you I've done them all and I am 5' 9 and pretty flexible as well. good luck.

  2. Do you want a competitive sport, a team sport, an individual sport...?  Think about what you want, and go from there.

For instance:  If you want a team sport, your height, strength, and flexibility sound perfect for volleyball, basketball or cross-country.  If you would prefer to play individually, your options open up:  In tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, martial arts, swimming, and track and field (hurdles and high jump, for instance) you would benefit from your body's natural abilities.  Heck, Ultimate Frisbee could be fun!

I would encourage you to think about what you really want.  Do you want the support of teammates?  Do you want the freedom to choose when you train?  Do you like the pressure of heavy competition and hard workouts?  Do you prefer to play for fun?  Once you know the answers to these questions, you'll be more able to decide what would be best for you.

  3. Tennis or you could also join a gymnastics club as your flexibility would be a great advantage in this and you could be great

  4. cycling, equestrian, soccer, maybe even gymnastics

  5. Volley Ball or Soccer, Volley Ball is easier to learn Just be fast and hit the ball on their side.
