What sport is right for me?

I'm a 15 year old guy going into my sophomore year in high school. Basically, I feel like a loser for not getting enough exercise and sitting on the couch all day, so I thought a sport might be good. Plus it would help me get extracurricular activities for college. The thing is I don't know of any sports that suit me. I'm out of shape, have a very limited knowledge of sports, and have played basketball and baseball in elementary school (rec leagues). I CANNOT play football, basketball, or run track/cross country. I thought about baseball, but it seems very difficult to train/learn. Can you give me ideas?

  1. Try discus and shot in track and Field or go to your nearest gym and benchpress. Another option is to bike or skateboard.

  2. Baseball would be pretty difficult to try to start at your age. But it depends how good your team is. And my suggestion, you might want to be a little more flexible, you've knocked pretty much all the sports I can think of that high schools typically offer. I doubt you could do hockey now, or lacrosse for that matter especially if you're doing it just to do something and don't care much about the sport. I'd say find a rec league to goof off in or do an individual rather than team sport.

But what is offered near you (rec leagues, school, club, etc).

  3. You might want to try throwing shot put and discus in track and field. They are relatively low impact events where you can train over the fall and winter so that you are practiced by spring...good luck!

(Or golf...golf is a game that is also easy to learn)

  4. Biking, skateboarding, wrestling, golf, bowling, swimming, lacrosse, soccer.
