I am a female and a new beginner in motorcycling. I am looking to get a sport motorcycle and I have found that Kawasaki Ninja 250 R has the lowest seat height. It is about 29.3 inches high. Is there any other sport motorcycle that has a lower seat height?> Thank you

  1. first off how tall are you? that would help but do you have long legs? i have a ninja zx7 you can let the spring out and lower it and this will help you lots, kinda like a car when you drop it.

  2. My first bike was a Buell Blast.  It normally comes in a low seat height.  You can also special order a seat which lowers the seat height even more...Even though I sold it for a more powerful bike, it was a good starter motorcycle...And if you're height challenged it's even better

  3. Kawasaki 250 Ninja.  It is the lowest sportbike steet legal for a beginner (stock). It is a great choice and should be easy for you to handle. After you move up to a 600 in a year or so you can always get the suspension lowered to fit you (dog bones and shock adjustment). But as I stated, it is a good choice to start with the 250.

Unless you already have...check out an MSF approved basic rider course.  They teach you good basic skills that you will always use when riding.

  4. Hey Laura,

You can get almost any bike lowered fairly easily (or go the cheap option and take some padding out the seat) so buy the bike you like and have it adjusted to suit you - A good garage would probably tune the suspension etc. as well so you'd have the bike set up really sweet!
