Hi,

What power size (ex. 250cc, 600cc) do you experienced riders recommend for me since I am 5'0, age 16, and weigh 110 lbs? Also, do you think there are any sportbikes big enough to fit my body frame?

  1. Try re-posting in motorcycles.

  2. Jon,

Wrong category.  You are looking for motorcycling.

Nevertheless, I have no doubt that the ride for you is a Kawasaki Ninja 250R.  Great little bike, light in weight and low seat height.  Also, highly in demand on the used market.  I've owned two and the larger displacement sport bikes I've owned have little on them.

Speed?  Well, as I like to point out to people who ask me, it's typically faster than any car they've ever owned and every model in the Harley Davidson line except the VRod.  If that's not fast enough for you then go to a 600cc sport bike.  All the major brands make top-notch units in this class.  Don't go any larger than that unless you have a lot of riding experience.  The 750 and over bikes are scary fast.

Just rode a new Ducati 1098 this morning -- unbelievable (and unmanageable) power.  That from a guy who has been riding for 46 years.

Hard to find a good used Ninja 250s these days because of the high cost of gasoline.  Also, bad time of the year to be looking.  I do my purchasing in the winter and am usually selling this time of the year.
