What starter plane should I get for a hobby

I'm 14 and I want to start flying model planes and I would like to eventually get into gas model airplanes so what should I get to start?

  1. I suggest a complete set including the radio in an ARF (Almost Ready to Fly) as these require little work to finish assembly, are usually 4 channel (rudder, elevator, throttle, aileron), AND are reasonably priced.

    I suggest you NOT start with a "park flyer", as they are very hard to fly if there is ANY wind at all since they are so small and light.

    You have a choice between electric and fuel powered.

    See various sites such as tower hobbies, hobbico, etc.

    Also see if you can find a local club or experienced flyer to help you learn to fly them.  

    You CAN do it by yourself, but it is quicker AND safer if you have an experienced instructor helping you.
