What starting hands are good for raising in Texas Hold Em?

  1. I would say any comination of Q's or higher would be pretty safe bets.  As far as pocket cards, I would say 10 or higher would be safe bets.


  2. Pocket pair of anything 10 or higher.  

    Pair of same suit cards (for flush)

    Run cards (for the straight), especially if both are face cards!

    This is all, of course, before the flop.  That changes everything!

  3. if you get pocket anything that is 9 or higher bet quickly people will think you have a good hand and you have a relatively good hand so they might fold giving u money or they might be  pushing their luck by going in with you but you don't want to go overboard in case they get lucky
