  1. NONE... if you want a good job, you need a college education and the State you are in is not important.

  2. My friend lives in Missoury and says most people over there don't have college degrees and make good money.

He did tell me, the White guy that he is used to us Mexicans here in California, that people over there are very racist, ignorant and bland.

He said they lack sense of style and life is pretty boring.  He makes good money over there but he's bored to death.

He came to California a few weeks ago and didn't want to leave the poor thing.  So I'm sure you can make good many in some places but there are going to be certain trade offs.

  3. Job availability is better in areas of bigger population, but at the same time the cost of living goes up.

You may find a better job in a big city, but will you be able to live on the pay?

Ideally, the best place to live is one with a fair cost of living, but with employment opportunities.  This would usually mean medium size cities in states with low cost of living or taxation, such as Ohio, Florida, and Delaware.

  4. um probally florida. texas. the immigrant states.

good luck =] but your still young you should go back to school

  5. i'm sick and tired of lazy people, go to college or get a measly job on any  state.

  6. Almost all states, will have some well paid job that you can get with out a college education. My husband works for Qwest here in MN and has only the training from the Marines he recived for his Comms unit. NO other training. He manages a Construction crew that does work  in buildings and at the locator boxes on the side of the road. So you can get a good paying job just need to shop around and work your butt off to prove your worthy.

  7. THERE IS BILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN CONSTRUCTION BACK LOGS IN LOUISIANA.

    FREE TRAINING AT

I was given free 6 month training, welding hood dewalt grinder, tool bag, 1 welding shirt, and hand tools. The tools alone cost over $300.00 and the classes are 2 nights a week.

Im making $30.00 an hour straight time and $45.00 on O.T. Bring home about $1,200 a week on 4 ten hour days. I dropped out when I was 16. No education and I make more than some friends with degrees.

Real estate is very affordable compared to the national average. Gonzales, LA. is about half way between New Orleans and is a good central location to live with all of the petro/chem plants within driving distance.

If you apply make sure to use your out of town address and you can receive perdiem up to $100.00 a day (thats non taxed)

Remember you can do anything if you put your mind to it, good luck!

  8. There are plenty of good jobs with a college education, but you have to get trained in one of the trades.

  9. join the navy

  10. I think California would be the best state.

Actors and actresses do not need college educations but their careers probably qualify as "good jobs."

You really need to specify what you consider a "good job."  Are you just talking about maximum short-term income?  Maximum long-term income?  High job satisfaction?  Being able to grow, make a difference?  A "sense of purpose" can be more important than "riches."

Since 'job' and 'money' are so closely related, I'll assume you're talking about money.

    Other options you may consider:

If you're a woman, Nevada. Prostitution is legal (in Vegas at least) and no college degree is required.  Your income will be related to your looks, of course.

I think a singer or sports talent can probably come up from just about anywhere but perhaps others could offer best states?

I hope you do see a point that I'm trying to make here though: unless you are an extravagant individual, chances are you are not going to find a "good" job without a college education.

At twenty years old a person is at a point in their life when they can easily choose to invest four years of their life to help increase their chances of reaching financial success in the future.  I strongly suggest that you fill out a FAFSA (http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/), just so you can see what your options are!  When I went to college I received about $6k a year in "excess aid" to live off of.  It is really a walk in the park (unless you have wealthy parents who won't help you, in that case you're screwed).

Four years of college is much different than four years of high school.  After graduating college and entering the work force you will see a distinct difference between those who went to college and those who did not.

This is not to say people with no college education are lazy.  By all means, I've seen many LAZY college grads.  College grads do typically have a greater depth of understanding things, however.  This is not to say that those who haven't gone to college are bad people, just that the education difference can often be seen.

There are people who didn't go to or finish college who are incredibly intelligent but these people are few and far between.  If you think you happen to be one of these people then you might want to ask why you're on Yahoo asking the question you're asking!

One more thing worth mentioning is that college isn't just about learning class subjects.  There are many other things people learn while in college:

    - how to become a (more) responsible adult

    - dealing with money and living on your own

    - social interactions with your peers

I could go on but I think those are three of the most important.

I'm ranting on and on about this because when I was 21 I decided to go back to college.  I wish I had gone earlier but choosing not to go because I had waited a few years would have been a HUGE mistake.

Finally I'd like to respond to some of the people who are bound to say "you don't need college to do <this>."  I agree, you might not need college to do <that>.  There is a good chance that one day someone WITH a college background will be pushing you out of the way, however.  Other possibilities include your task being automated or just not being required anymore.

You may be a highly intellectual individual right now but going to college is going to <increase> your intellect- I don't think there's much of an argument against that one.

    Good luck.

    P.S...

If you're looking for short-term income you might want to pursue that construction answer.  Consider 10 years down the road when that job isn't in quite as much demand, however.  Chances are there will be a lot of workers with a little work.  Of course there's always the chance that some other major city will be in need of rebuilding- it might be your best bet!

  11. Nevada

  12. by the look of your Name nevada would be perfect....
