What state has the best Weather Technology???

I live in Oklahoma and the Meteorologists keep saying that "everyone else is in awe of what we have" as far as technology wise...i was just wondering.

Oklahoma sensationalizes the weather because the big 3

TV stations are convinces that it helps their ratings.  All states

rely on the National Weather Service for their forecasts or to

corroborate their (states') findings.  The national severe

storms lab is in Oklahoma and the national hurricane lab is

in Florida. Kansas has equipment comparable to Oklahoma's

as does Texas and they all check their work against the NWS

Oklahoma may be bragging just a bit.

Where they would excel is in thunderstorm and tornado activity, thus a lot of researchers naturally work the area.  Of course they also work the rest of Tornado Alley, too.

The wide open spaces not only make big storms crop up, but they also make radar easier to use, too.

Other states are probably more sophisticated in other areas of weather research.  For example, Florida probably knows a whole lot more about lightning.

There is more to weather than just tornadoes.
