What state in the united states is the best to visit in the fall?

North Carolina. You have pretty much the climates of everywhere. You have the mountains which in the fall are beautiful. Then there are the beaches where its usually warm out, although hurricane season usually hits this area, and then you have inland parts of the state where you can Golf, or just sigh see the history of North Carolina.

If you want to see all the colors of the trees and feel the nice crisp air, then Massachusetts.  It's a pretty small state so you can also breeze through New Hampshire and Vermont while you're there.

It's absolutely GORGEOUS when the leaves start turning... I miss it!

there are so many maple trees the colours are fantastic.  oranges, yellows, bright reds, it's all amazing!  i've been to the east and west, and i can honestly say the east is the place to be in fall.
