I live in NY and I physically work in NY. However, I work remotely for an office located in MO. It's a unique situation. I don't commute to MO everyday!! Thank you for your answers!

  1. As you are a resident of NY, you will be taxed in NY.

If you work as a permanent employee of the company in MO, your employer will give you information whether NY and MO states have any reciprocatory agreement.

As you work  and stay in NY state, you have to pay NY tax.

  2. You definitely must pay NY and federal taxes.  If you work physically in MO on a regular basis, you may have to pay its taxes.  If you just telecommute and make rare business trips, probably not.  However, if you are required to pay MO taxes, you can claim a "resident credit" on your NY return for either MO taxes paid on income also taxed by NY or NY taxes paid on income also taxed by MO, whichever is less.

  3. You'll be taxed in New York - there is a standard by which if you work in MO, you'd file taxes in MO as well but if it's remote and occasional, you should look into the number of days allotted.
