What state would you use for a name?

For a boy or a girl.

And why?

Georgia, obviously! It's actually a really pretty name. But if I had to choose an obscure one, I'd go with Alaska. I love names that end in "ka"  like Annika.

For a boy, Oregon would sound pretty good. Ohio would be alright. Washington would probably be a popular choice, since surnames are so popular lately.

Thats really it for boys. I couldn't find any for them because they either werent' "namey" or too feminine. My favourite will probably be Alaska, because it's unique but also can be shortened too.

I really wouldn't use any, but Dakota is nice, plus you can use it for a boy or a girl.

Carolina wouldn't be terrible for a girl. Virginia could be nice, nicknamed Ginny! I suppose you could use Louisiana, Georgia, or Maryland.

I would go with Dakota. It is kinda neat!

Boy-

Rhode, after Rhode Island because the name doesn't scream STATE to me like Massachusetts or Texas or something. It would be a cute middle name too.

I've known a guy named Nevada. Not sure I Would ever do that though.

For a girl I think Carolina would be the only normal name.

Cities/Capital of States may be a little better for a name.

I would use Indiana (and I probably will). It just sounds really, really cool to me. I think it sounds unique but not really crazy. I love it!

For a boy, I don't think I'd want to use any state names, but I think Denver sounds sort of cool.

Edit: I also used to love the name Georgia, but I currently work with a terrible person named Georgia, and she ruined the name for me.
