  1. The most important statement is that they are free to choose for themselves, which should not offend the 'ulterior'. I am not into nose rings, body peircings and stuff like that. But, what I think about it? I don't really think about it unless it is going to affect me directly. I am not into arrogance. I support what I do, but I also support the freedom of man to choose. Does not bother me one bit. Peace.

  2. Some would be just saying i can do whatever what i want with my body, some are just following fashion craze as in "everyone is doing it".

  3. I think its most often a personal statement and a rejection of mainstream societies views on what is attractive and beautiful. Beauty is a cultural and societally learned attribute. Different cultures and societies have different views on what is attractive. If I grew up somewhere else I might have different views on it. I think these people do not like the idea of a media driven view of what is deemed attractive in western culture.

  4. idk but some people look good with it! i know some guy that has 13 piercings! he is cute!

  5. I think it is more of a personal statement, and as such would defy a blanket explanation.  You say the piercings are gross.  I'm sure they think they are beautiful.  Many people use piercing, tattoos, and scarification traditionally and culturally.  If the location of a piercing (other than the sexual ones) have a particular significance, I don't know, but I don't think so.  I think it's an individual interpretation.

  6. It's a way of saying "Would you like fries with that"? Without moving their lips.

  7. i think they're trying to say "it's my body i can do with it what ever i want"

  8. I'm not sure. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the idea of kissing someone with a lip ring.
