  1. It depends on your definition of "treasures":

The traditional buried treasure is that supposedly hidden by pirates.  The only written record of this was of Capt William Kidd burying a small cache on Gardiner's Island, which is off Long Island, New York.  But of course, pirates weren't renowned for their record-keeping anyway!  But if any others buried anything, it would be on the Eastern seaboard of the USA and around the Gulf Coast (they didn't operated in the Pacific).

Of course, others have buried valuables various reasons, sometimes legal - eccentrics burying their valuables, sometimes illegal - the proceeds of crime for instance.  But the whole point is that they bury them secretly, so they're not exactly going to put up posters telling everyone where it's at, are they?

If you want to move to a state and start digging, though, I'd have to recommend California, Arizona, Nevada - any of those abandoned mines could have been used for storing who knows what.  Getting permission to restart digging would be another matter. though!

  2. Everywhere on earth, not only in the US.  Strictly speaking, even the mere soil (earth) you're standing on is a treasure as "If you're in the desert, water is treasure".

What we treasure now may we worthless for the suceeding generations.  What do you treasure most?

  3. probably the states that have beaches like California , Florida, etc.

  4. Not Idaho.

  5. I think the oldest coastal state have the greatest chance for having buried treasure as they were the first to have people come live on them.Pirates were prominent in the south though and weren't always restricted to the coast, they would hide in swamps bayous and the like.

  6. washington--------oregon---alaska---

  7. under my house.

  8. theres a story of 2 propectors in nevada in the 1800s were digging away and the ground gave way and they fell into a tunnel,it went on and on,rooms opened up and they eventually found one room with a huge table and chairs, with huge gold plates and over sized cutlery, all gold.but it was covered in centuries of dust.

  9. Buried?  I don't know.  Something like New Mexico, Nevada, maybe some others over in that area.  However, on the east coast, theres probably tons of treasures washing ashore each year from centuries old shipwrecks out in the Atlantic.  But I'm sure every state has their fair share of buried treasures.
