Those three are landlocked states that occassionaly get tropical storms that have weakened, but I do not know if they ever recieved hurricane strength winds from them

Most states east of the Mississippi River have recieved the remnants of a tropical system, but most of the landlocked ones never get any with hurricane force winds

All other states (or at least parts of them) can get hurricane force winds from tropical storms. These are all the states that border the Atlantic Ocean or the Gulf of Mexico:

States do not have hurricanes.  Hurricanes are formed over the Atlantic Ocean and in the Gulf of Mexico.  The states along the coast and on rare occasion some a bit more inland will see hurricane force winds but once a hurricane reaches land, it quickly looses strength.  So, while the weather in many states can be indirectly affected by hurricanes pretty much only the coastal states will ever feel the full impact.

California is on the coast line but we rarely see rain. We need it!

pacific states have typhoons . The last hurricane in Ontario was 50 years ago
