  1. Holy Quran - Not really so bad.

Sunna - Very bad. Very low status.

I guess this is the difference between what made it's way into the Quran (debatable where that came from) and what came later.

  2. Very high status. We are precious, and we are given protection and respect in the Qur'an. We aren't like every other piece of meat woman walking in the streets with her bum hanging out of her skirt or her b*****s pushed up to her chin. We hold our heads high. We are seen as women with respect, with opinions that matter, with morals and with virtue. I'm a revert, and one of the things I love about being a Muslim is the high status a woman has, contrary to what the media reports. I mean, it is even said (not sure if hadith or Qur'an) "Only the woman has the power to make her home a h**l or a Paradise"

EDIT: All right, what have I said that's so offensive? Is it about the typical western women thing? Take a look around you and get back to me! Watch 3 Hollywood comedy movies from the last ten years, and if there isn't at least one western woman in all three of them showing her b*****s, or her bum, or kissing another woman, you'll get a sincere apology from me.

  3. Allah and His Prophet(pbuh) gave many many rights to women..But that doesn't imply that muslim women today are enjoying those rights..

Ladies in YA! are just a very very less minority among muslim women.Obviously all of them are living in good condititon alhamdulillah  and have education.and thus access to internet and thatz why they are here to talk about Islam.

But when thye say "Everything is fine" what is the rate of sampling that can be done, against in reference to women in others levels of society??

Most muslim women today are discriminated on various levels..Not providing proper education is the first and grave discrimination. Also women have very less authority over ,matters ,especially when it comes to marital and parental issues..Dn't get me wrong,I am talking about MUSLIMS,not ISLAM.

There is no use in blinding oneself to problems..I am accussed of being non-muslim or islam-basher when i bring such thoughts through qstns..

We must realize that it very pathetic situation around us.Unless the whole of society makes reqd steps, women will more n more get degraded.

Dn't tell me"SOME do it",No,"MANY are doing bad to women"..and sadly,we have some religious support to carry on doing so..

I find it sick that men dn't have to get first wife's consent before marrying again.Does that mean she have to work hard all day n night and one fine morning open door for her husband's new bride??

Also,by not permitting a women to talk her side during abuse cases(women have to appoint male maharm to talk for her in the court)..How can I talk my side?

Ok,i agree our religion has given us lot of priviliges, like women dn't have to provide for family and like. But still i must say that we have very sexist laws too.

I am just talking not by learning scriptures, but by observation of world around me.What is the use in saying Islam is perfect when almost all muslims are imperfect. It is dumb to say that "religion is not judged by its followers"..NO,Whatever may it be,the "theory" is judged by its followers..

When do we say,"Its a good school"..We say when many students pass with good mark and character"..We dn't say,"Its a good school, but  students are all dumbos who always fail"..

Now pls dn't tell me "This world doesn't matter"..It matters bcoz we are HERE AND NOW..

  4. Executive managerial status in a corporate organisation?

  5. Allah Almighty ordered men in the Noble Quran to take care of women and to protect them; "Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has given the one more (strength) than the other, and because they support them from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient, and guard in (the husband's) absence what Allah would have them guard.  (The Noble Quran 4:34)"

Allah Almighty also ordered men in the Noble Quran to love and respect their wives; "O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may take away part of the dower [money given by the husband to the wife for the marriage contract] ye have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and God brings about through it a great deal of good.  (The Noble Quran, 4:19)"

Allah Almighty equalizes between men and women; "To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female children to whomever He wills and bestows male children to whomever He wills.    (The Noble Quran, 42:49)"

Allah Almighty equalizes between men and women in good deeds; "If any do deeds of righteousness be they male or female and have faith, they will enter Heaven, and not the least injustice will be done to them. (The Noble Quran, 4:124)"

Allah Almighty further equalizes between men and women; "For Muslim men and women,- for believing men and women, for devout men and women, for true men and women, for men and women who are patient and constant, for men and women who humble themselves, for men and women who give in Charity, for men and women who fast (and deny themselves), for men and women who guard their chastity, and for men and women who engage much in God's praise,- for them has God prepared forgiveness and great reward.  (The Noble Quran, 33:35)"

Righteousness determines the value of humans in Allah Almighty's sight.  It is not their gender or race: "O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other.  Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.  And Allah has full knowledge and is well-acquainted.  (The Noble Quran, 49:13)"

  6. Well the women is equal to the man

  7. Islam was originated in a land where female infanticide was socially accepted among some Arabian tribes. Birth of a girl was an absolute shame and dishonor to a man. Usually women were recognized as sexual existences, not human beings!

In women’s issues,  there are clear-cut commands about recognizing gender equality. The contradiction that exists between Quran’s views and radical Muslims’ ideology about genders has its roots in the basic image that women had in the original society of Islam !!

Quran provides clear-cut evidence that woman is completely equated with man in the sight of God in terms of her rights and responsibilities:

"Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds" (Quran 74:38).

It also states: “...So their Lord accepted their prayers, (saying): I will not suffer to be lost the work of any of you whether male or female. You proceed one from another ...” (Quran 3: 195).

“Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily to him will We give a new life that is good and pure, and We will bestow on such their reward according to their actions.” (Quran 16:97, also see 4:124) !!!

  8. Allah has given immense rights to women ,,hadith books have restricted them,

There are widespread erroneous misconception about the status of women in Islam. This misconception was augmented by some newsmedia that made little effort to correct their understanding before broadcasting their views on this matter. Adding to this misconception are the regrettable practices in most so called "Islamic" countries or societies where myths, traditions and innovations have won over the true Islamic (Quranic) teachings and where women are traditionally subdued and oppressed.

Islam encourages wife beating:  On the contrary, Quran uses the best psychological approach to discourage this widespread abuse that is widespread in both Islamic and non-Islamic societies.wife beating is NOT allowed, this verse is mistranslated

The woman inherits only half what a man can inherit:  This is a common misconception even among the traditional Muslims themselves. Quran gives the parents total freedom to give their children as much as they see fit even if this means giving the females double what the males would get. Quran,  however, commands that if a will is NOT left, then the estate is distributed in such a manner that the son gets double what the daughter gets. Generally, the son is responsible for a family, while the daughter is taken care of by a husband or her family. However, the Quran recommends in 2:180 that a will shall be left to conform with the specific circumstances of the deceased. For example, if the son is rich and the daughter is poor, one may leave a will giving the daughter everything, or twice as much as the son.

    The woman's testimony. is equal only to half of the man's testimony:  This is a gross mis-representation. The woman testimony is equal to the man's testimony except in one case only, the financial transactions. This is according to 2:282;

[ 2:282] O you who believe, when you transact a loan for any period, you shall write it down. An impartial scribe shall do the writing. ........ Two men shall serve as witnesses; if not two men, then a man and two women whose testimony is acceptable to all. Thus, if one woman becomes biased, the other will remind her. It is the obligation of the witnesses to testify when called upon to do so. ......

Financial transactions are the ONLY situations where two women may substitute for one man as witness. This is to guard against the real possibility that one witness may marry the other witness, and thus cause her to be biased. It is a recognized fact that women are more emotionally vulnerable than men. If the woman as a witness was worth half that of a man, the verse would have stated so clearly. But obviously that is not the case. Women's testimony in all other matters are equal to that of a man or even supersedes his testimony as in the case of a wife testifying against her accusation of adultery, 24:6-10. See also, 65:2, 5:106 and 4:6

Muslim woman cannot have jobs outside their homes:  This also is not true. The social structure in the East where Islam prevails encourages the woman to make her house her first priority but there is no prohibition whatsoever on women having to work and earn their living. The Muslim woman has been given the privilege to earn money, the right to own property, to enter into legal contracts and to manage all of her assets in any way she pleases. She can hold a job or run her own business and no one has any claim on her earnings including her husband. Historically, Muhammed's first wife was a merchant who hired Muhammed to work for her. Muslim women went along with their husbands, fathers and brothers during battles to take care of the wounded and help in the back lines of  the troops..

Men status is higher than that of the women :  Again this is not true. Many writers who wrote about women's rights refer to the statement in 4:34 as a sign of the man is above the women in status but it is a misunderstood statement.   In 4:34, the expression "..al-rijalu qawwdmuna 'ala al-nisa'i.... " means "The men are made responsible for the women, and GOD has endowed them with certain qualities, and made them the bread earners." This expression simply means that God is appointing the husband as "captain of the ship." Marriage is like a ship, and the captain runs it after due consultation with his officers. It does not assign inequality but rather assigns duties to avoid conflicts and disputes.

Quran provides every possible proof that women and men are equal in th sight of God and treats both genders in the same way and rewards them in the same way.

Muslim Women cannot have education: This is not true. Qur'an encourages the pursuit of knowledge by all Muslims, regardless of their s*x. It repeatedly commands all believers to read, to recite, to think, to contemplate, as well as to learn from the signs of God surrounding us in nature. In fact, the very first revelation to Prophet Muhammad was "READ" and the second revelation talked about God who teaches the people by the "PEN". In either case no gender is advocated, the order is for everyone. Islam does not put any limit on the kind or field of education a woman may choose. Islamic history still has the mark of few women scholars

Women cannot share in the political life in their communities: This also is not true. Women in Islam have the right to vote, express their views on any public matter, run for an office and even be the head of a state.See 60:12, 27:22-44

Women cannot pray, fast, do Hajj or Ummrah during menstruation: This misconception is even common among women who follow the traditional Islam that derives many of its laws from man-made books. This is totally against the teachings of the Quran.

Women are stoned to death for Adultery : This is totally false as there is NO death penalty for adultery in Islam. The penalty of adultery is equal for both men and women, and involves symbolic lashing. Social pressure, i.e., public witnessing of the penalty, is the basic punishment  see 24:1-2

  9. The status of troublemakers and property.  Their bodies tempt men, so they have to be covered.  Men "maintain"women...like a car?  That's property.  Husbands can hit their wives (not as hard as slaves) but that's still like property.  They make up the majority of h**l, mostly because of things that are beyond their control (like their periods).

  10. Woman is recognized by Islam as a full and equal partner of man in the procreation of humankind. He is the father; she is the mother, and both are essential for life.

. Her human nature is neither inferior to nor deviant from that of man. Both are members of one another. God says:

And their Lord has accepted (their prayers) and answered them (saying): 'Never will I cause to be lost the work of any of you, be he male or female; you are members, one of another... (3:195; cf 9:71;33:35-36;66:19-21).

About knowledge:Muhammad declared that the pursuit of knowledge is incumbent on every Muslim male and female. This declaration was very clear and was implemented by Muslims throughout history.

Islam grants woman equal rights to contract, to enterprise, to earn and possess independently. Her life, her property, her honor are as sacred as those of man. If she commits any offense, her penalty is no less or more than of man's in a similar case. If she is wronged or harmed, she gets due compensations equal to what a man in her position would get (2:178;4:45, 92-93).

Islam does not state these rights in a statistical form and then relax. It has taken all measures to safeguard them and put them into practice as integral articles of Faith. It never tolerates those who are inclined to prejudice against woman or discrimination between man and woman. Time and again, the Qur'an reproaches those who used to believe woman to be inferior to man (16:57-59, 62; 42:47-59; 43:15-19; 53:21-23).

And we are all created from a single person:

004.001 O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord, who created you from a single person, created, of like nature, His mate, and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women;- reverence Allah, through whom ye demand your mutual (rights), and (reverence) the wombs (That bore you): for Allah ever watches over you.

    Al-Qur'an, 004.001 (An-Nisa [Women])

  11. No difference between a woman and a man, i got the verse to prove it, i know how much you like answers with verses included.

Surely, men who submit themselves to GOD and women who submit themselves to Him, and believing men and believing women, and obedient men and obedient women, and truthful men and truthful women, and men steadfast in their faith and steadfast women, and men who are humble and women who are humble, and men who give alms and women who give alms, and men who fast and women who fast, and men who guard their chastity and women who guard their chastity and men who remember Allah much and women who remember Him - Allah has prepared for all of them forgiveness and a great reward. (Quran 33:35)

this verse gives clear evidence, here is another one>>>>>>

O ye people! Fear your Lord who created you from a single soul and of its kind created its mate, and from them twain spread many men and women; and fear Allah, in Whose name you appeal to one another, and fear him particularly respecting ties of kinship. Verily, Allah watches over  (Quran 4:1)

    Peace brother Muhammad

  12. In Islam Woman is been treated as a precious Jewel.

Prophet Muhammad (Blessings and peace of Allah upon him) said: “… and the woman is the guardian of her husband’s home and she is responsible for what she is looking after”.

Allah says in the Quran: "O You who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will, and you should not treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the Mahr (bridal-money given by the husband to his wife at time of marriage) you have given them, unless they commit open illegal sexual intercourse. And live with them honorably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good." (An-Nisa 4:19) The most basic right of a woman in Islam is the knowledge and recognition.

Prophet (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Women are the second half of men”. Islam considers a woman to be equal to a man as a human being and as his partner in this life, and raised her condition very much.

Much much more could be written because Islam Treats women with alot of respect.

    Proud Muslimah ~!
