I'm not sure how this process would work. Do I major in chemistry and than go to Chemical Engineering? Would I go straight to chemical engineering? What major would be most appropriate for chemical engineering?

  1. Your first year and a half or two years are basic math courses like calculus, general chemistry, physics, and introductory engineering courses.  Then you take more directed chemical engineering courses like thermodynamics and heat/mass transfer, etc along with advanced science electives.  But the answer is yes, you declare a major in ChemE and adhere to that specific curriculum for four years.  All the chemistry you can grasp easily in high school and remember will help you in your first year, so be sure you pay attention!
