What steps do I need to take in order to start going to college?

I am a HS Senior and I want to get started. Do I need to apply to a college first, fill out FAFSA, or what? What else do I need to do, and in what order do I need to do these things?

First, you will need to make a decision on what you want to take in college and where you want to go. Start researching schools/programs and studying for your SAT exams. You can also begin to research scholarships that you might want to apply for. Once you take your exams and receive your scores you will be able to apply to schools. Make sure to apply to at least a few different schools so that you have a back up plan if your first choice doesn't come through. As soon as you are accepted to a school, you will be able to file for your federal aid, grants and specific scholarships. Your school will provide you with information that will help you do this.

you need to take your SATs and send those scores to the colleges.  You have to fillout your applications and get teacher recommendations as well.  Most college applications have a check list of what you need to do.  Consult that.
