  1. I do not know the requirements for the U.K. But as far as the U.S. goes, this is what you will need to do:

    -high school graduate or GED

    - college graduate (any major is fine) but you must have the pre-reqs needed. (which varies a little from school to school) usually general biology, general and organic chemistry, general phyiscs, pre-calculus and calculus, english and a social science. recommended courses are anatomy and physiology, genetics, biochemistry, and histology to name a few.

-being a college graduate is not necessary, you only need to have the pre-reqs which take 2-3 yrs to complete but it looks better if you have a degree

-a strong science gpa and overall gpa

-take and do well on the MCAT. (5 is the highest score)

-apply thru AMCAS (which includes doing an essay)

-it is good to have experience working in a medical setting

I think those are all the requirements that you will need to get into medical school. Good Luck.

  2. Go to SDN (student doctor network) forum and find out.

  3. Well if you look on career websites they'll tell you:

You need to have studied Biology, Chemistry and Physics OR Maths at A level. And get AAB as a minimum.

If you don't you need to take a 4 years course or summink.

Then you go med school and learn for 7 years. Then do an internship, residency and then ur a fully fledge doctor.

  4. red has most of the requirements for med school in the US correct, but not all of them. you absolutely do have to be a college graduate to apply to medical school here. 5 is not the highest score on the MCATs. The MCAT has 3 sections- biological sciences, physical sciences, and verbal- each out of 15 so the highest score is 45. Generally to have a good chance of getting into a medical school you want to score over 30.

A lot of medical schools in the US also require American citizenship or permanent residency. Some that do allow foreign students, may have requirements such as proof that you have a years worth of tuition in a bank account. Med school tuition in these places can range upwards of $35,000 per year so you have to consider that. Foreign students are not eligible for any federal financial aid.

Choosing between UK and US schools depends largely on where you want to practice. If you want to practice in the US, you should do your degree here. Foreign medical degrees are very difficult to transfer over to the US.
