What steps must be taken to ensure that India has a good chance of getting ICC WC 2011 in the subcontinent.?

Please avoid the senior, junior controversy. Try not to be irrational. The big three cannot play! That's for certain. They will be way tooooooooo old. This is not a team like Kenya and there is no place for oldies like Steve Tikolo and Martin Sujis.

Old in such cases is not gold.

Dhoni is going to be the captain and Yuvraj his deputy, that's certain too. What other measures must then be taken to ensure a healthy run in the ICC WC 2011?

as my suggestion all the new players should be thrown out for WC of 2011.

only experienced players should play that like in bowlers

A domestic T20 tournament shoul be organised frequently for practice. The young guns discovered in the IPL should be sharpened. Guys like Shreevats Goswami, YoMahesh, Shikhar Dhawan,S.Badrinath might prove crucial.

Ok, ok, you don't want the seniors, and Ganguly and Dravid won't be there to disturb you. The door to the ODI team is closed for these 2 players, that's for sure. But you won't be able to eradicate one out of the big 3, no matter how hard you try, and that player is none other than Sachin Tendulkar. He has made it clear that he wants to play till 2011 WC, and BCCI would surely provide him that chance. Like it or not, Sachin would be there.And please let the seniors (Sourav & Dravid) rest in peace. They have served our team well, now, you all don't need them anymore-fine the will be gone soon, so please don't drag them back from their "graves" to criticize them.

The junior brigade led by Dhoni, should put their youth into full use, instead of only bragging of their youth. There should be proper teamwork, and most importantly, they should not get involved in any controversies (eg, slapping each other). Also, I feel that there shouldn't be too much hype about 2011 WC, because the overhyped teams always fail to rise to the occassion. The regional factor should be eliminated from the team selection so that truly talented players from all parts of the country get an opportunity to serve the national team. Useless players like Munaf Patel, and Sreesanth need not play. Most importantly Dhoni should continue his "lucky charm", and let's see if he manages to put his name beside Kapil Dev and win us the WC or not.

Since still 3 years to go, India should short list about 30 talented youngsters and play them in the matches in future on rotational basis to assess their strength and weaknesses and try to groom them up in the next 2 years.   Final squad should be picked from these shortlisted players and they should be given sufficient match practice before the world cup starts.
