as far  as i know, there are no major stock markets that operate on saturdays.

I would look at the initial public offering list in Investors Business Daily for the days leading up to September 30, 2008.   The IBD has a special section on IPOs.   Not sure why you have to buy a new stock but that is your business.  Usually an IPO is not purchased until six months after the IPO.
