Tough question.  It's probably Southwind Kayaks in Orange County.... but Aqua Adventures is pretty good too.   I've been to both stores numerous times - both have excellent staff and products.

It's Southwind Kayak Center. These guys are the professionals that know kayaking and will not try and sell you a big plastic boat that you don't need. They get you into something appropriate, give you training and make kayaking fun.

From a fellow kayaker, hands down they know their stuff.
