My friend got me a vinyl record and I have nothing to play it on.

I was wondering if there are stores in Houston, TX that might sell turntables to play it on.

And also, if there's anything else I'll need to play the record, could you please let me know?

Thanks.

  1. I doubt you'll find anyone selling record players that can play those types of records cheap that sell them in Houston. The ones you would find will more then likely be found at antique stores like traders village or some pawn shops might have one.

They are prob going to be pretty pricey. If your friend has a player you would be better served to have her connect her record player to the sound card of the computer and simply record it to the hard drive and then burn it to CD. You will prob need an adapter to plug the phonograph into your computer. Go to Radio Shack and they can sell you the correct cable. Maybe $10 tops.

Here is a free piece of software to actually record the record

If you are set on doing this yourself:

Has one. You can see its about a $100. Kinda expensive to do this one time.

    You can try here

Anyway that should get you started. Sadly the days of vinyl are dead.

  2. you know that um um you shouldnt play a vinyl on turntables
