Most party stores sell them.  I have seen them at Wal-Mart, too.  (Check the aisles with the cards and balloons.)  Some craft stores may sell them, too (like Jo-Ann Fabrics and Michael's).  You can always make one at home, too.  Search Yahoo for pinata recipes and ideas.....

Party City sells them.  You can even buy a large bag of toys/candy to fill them with as well.

I have seen pinatas in Walmart, but the best place would be a Mexican Store.  They can be ordered there as well as on-line in a variety of shapes and themes.
