my favorite one is "casper meets wendy". its something about a ghost who meets a human and they become best friends but casper the ghost's uncles dont let him hang out with a human. and wendy's aunts are really mean and she is grounded so they have to sneak out just to see each other. im sorry if i got some of the story wrong because its been awhile since ive seen it. haha

Haunted with Aidan Quinn and Kate Beckensale, it was independent, i don't think anyone but my sister and I remember it. Its about a professor who wrote a book debunking mysterious phenomenon in the early 1900's. He's asked to come to a house in the country where the nanny is seeing strange things....I don't wanna tell more it you haven't seen it but i really like it.

a really good and overlooked one:

A Matter of Life and Death (also known as Stairway to Heaven)

While not a Ghost movie per se, the movie The Man who Wasn't There portrays a man who goes through life like a ghost and is one of my favorites.  It's about a man named Edward Crane who in an attempt to blackmail his wife's boss causes a chain of death, fraud, and imprisonment to all of those around him.  Even though Crane is at the middle of every event, all of the lawyers and cops in the movie see everything as happening differently as though Crane had nothing to do with any of it.  At the end of the movie you realize that had not Crane existed at all everything would have taken place just as it had and that he really didn't change anything at all.

Hence the movie's title, "The Man Who Wasn't There"
