What structure of cells are associated with endodermal cells in order to function?

Casparian strips or the Pericycle? Or am I wrong all together?

  1. Yes you're right. The Casparian strips and Endodermal cells are very closely related and actually function together to prevent H20 from outside the cells entering into the Xylem. It is a wall of protection impermeable to H20. Water can only go inside through Plasmodesmata.

    The pericycle grows under the  Endodermal cells, correct, however are involved with the formation of lateral foots and the cambium.
