  1. You need to give more information about your location if you want a true answer.  Different states have different requirements.  Do you want to open an in-home childcare or do you want to open a larger, licensed facility?  In the state of Texas your requirements for owning are none, but the director has to meet certain critereia.  I would suggest that you locate the state agency that governs childcare in your state and ask them, you'll get a more accurate answer from them than you ever will here!  Good luck!

  2. You can open a daycare center with no knowledge of daycare or child development.  I would suggest a business degree and ECE classes.  Depending on your state the Director you hire will need to at least have and associates in ECE.

  3. If you want to be a Director of a Preschool or Day Care Center you need a Bachelor of Education - Early Childhood. It is a four year course and you will be qualified to teach in a preschool, day care and infants school. Charles Sturt Uni has more info online.
