Question:

What stuff on my babies tongue?

I noticed that my 6 week old baby has some white stuff on her tongue. I noticed this shortly after she ate, so I'm not sure if it's the milk that's on her tongue, or if it's something else. She does have a feeding tube through her nose that we use when she doesn't finish her entire bottle. Not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Or it could just be the milk

  1. If it's only right after she eats, it is probably just a coating of milk. If it is thicker, and is always on there, and is very white on cheeks and tongue, it could be thrush. Thrush is a yeast infection in the mouth, usually occurring after antibiotic use. If you are worried, take her to the doctor--they can prescribe something to use for the thrush. Good luck.

  2. i would wipe your baby's tongue with a wet cloth if it is still there the it is thrush call a doctor because it is very catch able

  3. sounds like thrush talk to your doctor

  4. Sometimes babies will get Thrush. That can leave a white coating on their tongue and insides of their cheeks. I'm really not sure. If you're worried I would just all your pediatrician. If the white stuff comes and goes it really might just be milk. Good Luck!

  5. That's called a geographic tongue.

A lot of babies get that, it's nothing to worry about.

  6. It sounds like thrush which is a yeast infection. Quite common in young infants and will need a prescription to treat it. Please don't ignore it because it will make your baby's mouth very sore and can spread to the throat. The baby will not want to eat at all.

My grandson had this a couple of times. There is an easy treatment for it but you must get a prescription.

  10. Signs and symptoms in infants and breast-feeding mothers

Healthy newborns with oral thrush usually develop symptoms during the first few weeks of life. In addition to the distinctive white mouth lesions, infants may have trouble feeding or be fussy and irritable. They can also pass the infection to their mothers during breast-feeding. The infection may then pass back and forth between mother's b*****s and baby's mouth. Women whose b*****s are infected with candida may experience the following signs and symptoms:

    Unusually red or sensitive nipples

Shiny or flaky skin on the areola

Unusual pain during nursing or painful nipples between feedings

Stabbing pains deep within the breast

  11. it sounds like thrush,if it is then its very common and easy to treat
