What stuff would I need to play Heavy/Death metal with, besides a guitar?

I have a fender squire guitar, and I was wondering what epuipment I'd need to play heavy metal with. Can someone help

  1. A good distortion pedal, a good amp, and a lot of emotion!

    and probably a different guitar rather than fender squire, preferrably something with humbuckers, such as a Paul Reed Smith, a Gibson, Schecter, Ibanez, or ESP/LTD...
