What style of Japanese is Naruto written in, and how can I translate into it?

  1. It's in the type of Japanese used in anime. Real people don't talk like that in Japan. "Anime-style Japanese" is more exaggerated and uses words that would be considered rude if you said them when speaking Japanese in real life.

    Ex. In anime, like Naruto, you hear people say "omae" or "temee" or "kisama" a lot. All of them are impolite ways to say "you", (I put them in order from least rude to most rude) and you would never call some random person that in real life. It's similar to calling someone "b_st_rd" or other swearing words. You might say them to your friends because you are close but not to people you are not close with.

    You can translate it the way you translate normal Japanese. Either learn Japanese or use a dictionary or online translator (not reliable though) or ask in the language section of Y!A. It's not like there is any different grammar, but there is slang and slang grammar which is sometimes used in real life Japanese.


  2. Just stick to the fansubs man, you can't translate it if you don't know what style of Japanese it is even. . . =)
