What subjects do I need for Graphic Designing?

Im doing my subject selections for next year ( year 11 ).

and need to know what to pick.

these are the subjects;

Visual Communication and design 1+ 2

Studio Arts 1+ 2

Drama 1+ 2

Music 1+ 2

Information Technology 1+ 2

Textiles 1+ 2

Food 1+ 2

Pychology 1+ 2

Chemistry 1+ 2

Biology 1+ 2

Physics 1+ 2

History 1+ 2

Business Management 1+ 2

Accounting 1 + 2

Legal Studies 1 + 2

English 1 + 2

Math Methods 1+ 2

Math Furter 1+ 2

Foundation Math 1+ 2

btw, Im going into Vcal but i also will be doing a VET subject. which i think im choosing VET MULTIMEDIA.

  1. It really depends on what university/TAFE you want to study at. Do some background research before you decide.

    Studio Arts 1+ 2

    Information Technology 1+ 2

    English 1 + 2

    These are the subjects that will help you the most in the graphic design industry. You should do these but also have a back-up career in mind (its really hard to break into and alot of people, once they do break into it change thier minds and do something else.)

    My partner (who is a graphic designer/illustrator) has been out of the education system for 12 years, so this advice needs to be taken with you doing some researh into what your university/tafe of choice is looking for.

  3. Definitely take Visual Communication and Design class, and also Information Technology. Those would be the most closely related to the graphic design field.

    Also, many people who get involved with computers need to be certified at a certain mathematic level so I would suggest throwing in a few of the math classes as well.
