  1. The ACT is a test where you don't have to have any prior knowledge to do well on. Everything is given to you in the test booklet. The whole point of it is that you are able to decipher the answers from the material given. What you should do, however, is spend some time going over the test itself, some strategies to taking it, and what your weaknesses are so you know what sections to focus on. A friend of mine too AP Chemistry and just happened to have a section in the Science Test that was on things he actually knew, but thats just luck, and you should be able to take it without any studying.

That's not to say its easier, because the scores still fit the general curve that you see on the SAT, but its different in that you arent expected to know the meaning of every word in the dictionary and instead are required to analyze the things are you are given. Like I said, "study" the ACT, not learning material FOR the ACT.

  2. the answer 1 is a LIE. ACT is different from SAT in this way. ACT- 50% english (reading half and writing half), 25% Science (more for biology), 25% Math (up to algebra 2). SAT is more of 66% english, and 33% Math.

If you are better at English, take SAT b/c it gives you 16% more advantage BUT if your not, I would go with ACT. ACT's Math section is known to be WAY harder than SAT (It is more like SAT II) but it certainly is less on English by 16%.

SAT is more generalized but a good thing about ACT is that you can send only ONE score to college admission. Colleges, no matter what other people say, looks at ALL OF YOUR SAT SCORES. But Act, they can't b/c they don't get direct access to it :)
